When you type 2017 Dodge Dart in Google search, you’ll get various blogs stating this sedan changes, engine lineup, fuel economy, etc. We don’t know how they got this information, but the truth is that this model won’t be coming at all. The reason lies in low sale numbers. Executives tried to reposition and simplify the Dart lineup, but all was in vain. Despite its name, it continued missing target sale numbers.

2017 Dodge Dart – Tough Rivals
The Dart never managed to catch fire and pose a serious threat to its rivals (Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3, Chevrolet Cruze, and Hyundai Elantra). For better understanding, we created a comparison table below where you can see sale number in the past years. And to be fair, Dart had a serious competition. The company also said that failure was due to market slowly shifting to SUV’s. But then again, that doesn’t excuse them for Dart’s failure. As we can see that other manufacturers don’t struggle to keep sale numbers high. The company even tried to outsource its production, but the problem was they couldn’t find a manufacturer that was willing to build it. That is more than enough to know that Dodge doesn’t plan to fill the gap left by their smallest model.
But for the ones who want to park Dart in their garage, there is some good news. A company spoke person stated: “While there will not be a 2017 Dodge Dart, we are working with our dealers to forecast the production and sales volumes that will allow us to satisfy our customer’s needs well into the 2017 calendar year.” So 2016 Dodge Dart will be the last one available, but at least it will be throughout 2017.

Another model from FCA will receive the same fate but will live one more model year than Dart, and that’s 2017 Chrysler 200. The reason is again low sale numbers.
