2017 Infiniti QX50 Release

Japanese manufacturer Nissan Motor Company is preparing 2017 Infiniti QX50 with a few changes and updates. It was launched in 2007 as Infiniti EX (name was changed to QX50 in 2013), a luxury crossover that is now in second generation. This model didn’t really have the best acceptance by the audience. Two of the problems were cramped backseats and small cargo area and they plan to change that. Yes it costs a little over $34.000 and it’s one of the cheapest in its segment. But for slightly more money you could park vehicles like BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC-class or Cadillac XT5 in your garage. Audi Q5, Acura MDX or Porsche Macan S also belong in this segment and are successful in taking their market share, but for those you really need to push your hand deeper in the pocket.

2017 Infiniti QX50 – Design

There was no problem about the looks of this car and what can you change to make it look better. It stands out from the crowd with its unique appearance, but everything is going forward so slightly changed design is one of them. Manufacturers are always looking to change the front fascia. In this case 2017 Infiniti QX50 will receive new curves on the long hood to make it look really aggressive. Front grille will remain the same with lower mash divided in three large segments for better air intake. Below LED headlights, slick almost not visible fog lights will improve visibility of the road.

On the other hand rear end won’t go through any changes at all. But with 19-inch alloy wheels that are available with Deluxe Touring package, this vehicle in the first place looks really well built. There are rumors of adding new colors to palette to somewhat refresh the look of 2017 Infiniti QX50, but in this moment we can’t say for sure.

As we mentioned before smaller legroom for backseat passengers was a big problem. You wouldn’t expect to not be comfy in a luxurious SUV. But with longer wheelbase for 2016 model 4.3 inches are added in the backseat legroom. As for the cargo area is concerned, it isn’t something that 2017 Infiniti QX50 can be proud of but without rear passengers and folded seats you could take. With longer wheelbase that we mentioned it was either more legroom or bigger space for your luggage. They made up their mind and now the comfort is really on the next level. With premium leather upholstery, heated-powered seats enjoyment in driving this model is really high.

Our little objection for current model is that bellow infotainment system buttons to operate it are positioned in that way that they are almost not visible. Imagine going to ATM to withdraw money, but you have to enter your credentials crouching down. We are strongly praying that center stack console in 2017 Infiniti QX50 will be modified in a way that all of those hard to reach buttons will be removed and implemented in a larger more accessible touchscreen. For all other, added wooden details, sleek design, sunroof it really gives you the feel of luxury that you can get with higher priced premiums. With Dual Zone Automatic Temperature, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and connection via Bluetooth driving experience will certainly be more pleasurable and easier.

2017 Infiniti QX50 – One Powertrain

As for the powertrain for 2017 Infiniti QX50 there are no new engines at this moment. In other words lineup for U.S. market will consist of just one gasoline engine. It is 3.7-liter V6 engine has output of 325 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to rear wheels as standard through a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. To have their Intelligent All Wheel Drive price will go up for a thousand dollars as this comes as option. There is a possibility that power output will be slightly larger if they just tweak the engine a little. As far as the fuel consumption is concerned 2017 Infiniti QX50 could have slightly better fuel economy. This is expected due to better aerodynamics, but that alone won’t be enough. Current fuel consumption is 17 mpg in city and 24 mpg on highway on RWD as well as AWD.

2017 Infiniti QX50 – Release Date

There are available different packages that can accommodate your needs. And those are Premium, Premium Plus, Technology and Deluxe Touring package. All of them will give you what you need as long as you got the money to pay for them. There aren’t much elements that will change the 2017 Infiniti QX50. In other words we can say that start price won’t go higher than current one. But  to be sure we’ll just wait first quarter of 2017 to see is there anything else this Japan brand will offer us since competition in this segment is large.
