The good news from Acura is that during this year we can expect a launch of the brand new crossover. As the SUV segment is growing hard each year, Honda’s owned Acura is offering luxurious vehicles. New generation of the Acura MDX will come after 2020, while current model is going to be redesigned. The new redesigned 2018 Acura MDX model will be much better than the current one. It will have more aggressive, sharp look and a modern touch. While same engines should be installed under the hood, modernization in structure of the body could result lower overall weight and thus a better mpg rate.
2018 Acura MDX – Body & Cabin
With more cosmetic changes to the 2018 Acura MDX, body structure will have much more carbon fiber and aluminum; a lightweight materials that all manufacturers in the automotive industry are trying hard to implement. Overall dimensions are not being changed. But for a fresher look at the front there is a brand new grill, while at the back are new taillights and a bumper are found. All together style is much bolder and sharp looking. To improve the overall impression rumors are that it will have a new cabin, comfort is at the next level, new gadgets are added and all the safety features are upgraded so you won’t worry about safety. In conclusion the new model is very dominant and powerful looking.
2018 Acura MDX – Power
The current model has only one power-train. The company is going to give power to the 2018 Acura MDX with the same 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. This is delivered through 6-speed automatic transmission and the power is distributed to front wheels. Optional for this crossover will be Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive or in short SH-AWD. Fuel economy will be almost the same since the combined mileage for FWD is 21 mpg, while the SH-AWD is 20 mpg.
2018 Acura MDX – Conclusion
Since the 2018 Acura MDX isn’t announced yet, there is room for upgrades and it’s promising that these numbers will be improved. The current engine might offer more power and less fuel consumption. As for the price, it will probably be modified to current model.
