Audi’s next generation is elegant 2018 Audi A5 model who expected to arrive in the showrooms around the world in the first half of 2017 when the company will pull the wraps off this MLB platform-based model. This model will be a direct rival to Mercedes-Benz’s C-Class Coupe BMW’ 4-Series Coupe. To be agiler and to improve its handling new platform will be around 220 lbs lighter and combined with the five-link suspension setup, thus the results will follow.

There is only a handful spy shots circling the internet that show evolutionary changes to car’s styling. The most changes made on the 2018 Audi A5 are in front where the company’s design team is going for a more aggressive look. On both ends, A5 will gain similar lighting units, LED and laser headlights with Matrix beam capability. The rumors are that engineers will lengthen the wheelbase which will result into more cabin space, therefore boosting the comfort of the occupants. Besides more cabin space Audi’s MMI interface, Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panels are also there. Besides those, an advanced infotainment system with Wi-Fi is installed as well as semi-autonomous driving aids to improve all-around safety.

The company will continue to use 2.0-liter TFSI (Turbo Fuel Stratified Injection) engine. Besides that new twin-supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine will come with something below the 500-horsepower mark. Carmaker designed the new Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform Evo platform to be compatible with alternative drive-trains. In other words, plug-in hybrid might join the line up with the 1.4-liter TFSI engine and an electric motor. Standard for 2018 Audi A5 will be front-wheel drive while famous Quattro all-wheel drive will remain optional. The transmission should be dual-clutch with seven forward gears. Fuel consumption as far as the 2.0-liter TFSI engine is concerned will be about 44 mpg.
