Audi doesn’t sleep. They carefully work on every model from their lineup to improve and satisfy customer needs from every segment. One of those is Q3, a compact crossover that will enter 2018 as a new generation. The sales of this SUV are slowly but steadily rising and Audi wants to keep that positive trend. To do that, they will update the 2018 Audi Q3 with a new platform and latest technology.
2018 Audi Q3 – New Platform
As for design, the new model will come with a design similar to new Q5. The use of MQB platform will result in weight reduction. So we can expect increased performance while also reducing fuel consumption. While the footprint is similar to the outgoing model overall dimensions will slightly change. Length will see an increase of 2.36 inches, while 2018 Audi Q3 will be 1.97 wider. Not only that, but wheelbase should also stretch for about 2.5 inches.

2018 Audi Q3 – Roomier Cabin
This will also result in a roomier cabin. Especially in the rear seats. An increase in current 14.83 cubic feet cargo space is also expected. The interior design should also mimic the dashboard layout of Q3 bigger brother Q5. The conventional instrument cluster will e gone in favor of Audi Virtual Cockpit, a 12.3-inch TFT display. Panoramic sunroof will be available on all trim levels as well as a rear-view parking camera.
2018 Audi Q3 – New Engine Options
The new platform will open doors for a range of powertrains for the 2018 Audi Q3. The TFSI 2.0-liter with 200 horsepower will probably remain. We also can expect seven-speed S Tronic to replace existing six-speed transmission. And famous Quattro AWD should come standard on highest trim while remaining optional on lower trims. But we expect a plug-in hybrid e-tron. This hybrid will combine 1.4-liter TFSI engine with an electric motor. With this combined, fuel economy will be around 150 mpg. Not only that, but Audi aims to offer an all-electric Q3 that will have a range of 186 miles per charge. More important for this model is that it would offer a quick-charge setup to make Q3 EV more practical.
2018 Audi Q3 – Price
Three trim levels will probably remain for the 2018 Audi Q3. And the starting price should not go over $33.000. While new SUV will be available close to the end of 2017 or even early 2018. BMW X1, Infiniti QX30, and Lexus NX are main competitors for this model.
