2018 Cadillac ATS-V With Minimal Changes

There just aren’t many competitors to German high-performance vehicles like BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63. But the answer comes from American brand Cadillac. The word is about relatively new ATS-V. It comes in a form of four-door sedan and two-door coupe. And with being only one year old, changes for 2018 Cadillac ATS-V are minimal.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V – Excellent Design

Aside from regular ATS, the V-powered version is more than the just powerful engine. It’s aerodynamic body with widened fenders, and muscular look delivers a more distinct visual presence. In other words, the ATS-V looks amazing. Both coupe and sedan have a unique appearance on both front end rear ends. There is deck lid spoiler with two dual exhaust pipes below the bumper just to further make a stance that this vehicle is not a child’s play. As we also said, changes are minimal, the only thing outside that 2018 Cadillac ATS-V brings is a new exterior color option. That certainly isn’t a bad thing since there’s simply nothing wrong with the design of this model.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V – Interior

On the inside, the most notable feature is certainly optional Recaro Sport seats for front occupants. There are really worth the extra charge. But we can also find some unique details. The only downside for this model is a bit cramped interior space. But being the smallest Cadillac model in the lineup that’s something that isn’t extraordinary. As for the changes for 2018 model year, the only thing that ATS-V will get is the updated Cadillac’s User Experience (CUE). It’s normal update to improve responsiveness and to be easier to manage.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V – Specs

Of course, muscular body and refined interior are just about nothing if there is no appropriate engine to deliver performance. And ATS-V surely delivers. There are no changes for 2018 model year, but there’s certainly no need for that. It comes with powerful 3.6-liter twin turbo V6 which delivers 464 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. Although Cadillac said that 0-60 mph acceleration is achieved in 3.8 seconds on the track the ATS-V was even 0.1 seconds quicker. And that’s better than German rivals mentioned above.

Maybe the best part of this vehicle is the choice of gearbox. In the world where automatic transmission slowly takes domination, the ATS-V leaves the ability to control the gears. Although there is optional eight-speed automatic transmission it comes with six-speed manual transmission. The downside is that even with all the safety features it doesn’t come with automatic emergency braking. The RWD is the only option, but this model could really benefit if the torque is sent to all four wheels.

2018 Cadillac ATS-V – Price

With minimal changes, the price correction for 2018 model year is even less than that. The current starting price is $60.695. That’s less than BMW M3 and M4, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Mercedes-AMG C63. The only two models that come with lower price are from Audi, the S3, and S4.
