2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Rumors

You probably know that Silverado is one of the best-selling pickups in the U.S. Ford F-150 is still number one. But you might don’t know that in a span of 14 years (2002-2015), Chevrolet sold 7.573.921 Silverado’s. Chevrolet in 2012 unveiled third generation Silverado that has undergone the first facelift for 2016 model. And they aren’t stopping. Constant updates and improvements are essential for keeping sales numbers high. Although not yet confirmed there are some rumors regarding 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 – Platform

When it comes to design, there probably won’t be any significant changes since the current look is doing just fine. But there are reports of the slight redesign of the grille, while LED headlights that were available only on higher trims will now come as standard even on the base trim. Even if that doesn’t happen, the design of this pickup truck is really sending a message that it is no joke. GMT K2XX platform was firstly introduced on Silverado and for now, it will remain to underpin the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 – Interior

The interior also won’t go through some dramatic changes. The Regular Cab, Extended Cab, and Crew Cab will remain in the offer as well as Short, Standard or Long box. Trim levels will also remain the same. There are WT, LS, LT, LT Z71, LTZ, LTZ Z71, High Country, in other words, buyers can select from a wide variety and combinations to suit their 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for their job. For the lower trims, there will be the 4.2-inch color screen. But on higher trims, buyers will have Chevrolet MyLinkaudio system which comes on 8.0-inch diagonal high-definition, full-color touchscreen.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 – Powertrain

There is also no new engines. But current lineup will suffice. Depending on buyers needs, 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will have three engines available, one V6 and Two V8s. Smallest 4.3-liter Ecotec3 produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. As for the V8, it comes with two volume sizes, one is 5.3-liter, and the another one is 6.2-liter. They produce 355 and 420 horsepower and 383 and 460 lb-ft of torque. They currently come with either six or eight-speed automatic. But some reports say that new ten-speed transmission will make its way in new Silverado.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 – Price

New Silverado won’t be available by the end of 2017. As for the price, it will go slightly higher, but we doubt it will cross the $30.000 mark for the base trim.
