2018 Lincoln MKC Brings No Updates

Ford struggles to make its luxury brand Lincoln a desirable brand. They are on the right path since, in particular, case of MKC, small luxury SUV sales have jumped in the 2015 and 2016. It might have to do something with Matthew McConaughey and especially Jim Carey. Lincoln will rest on current success since 2018 Lincoln MKC will arrive with no changes or updates whatsoever.

2018 Lincoln MKC – Former Updates

MKC shares platform with Ford Escape, but it isn’t just a re-badged Ford. It can hardly be a booth in connection with Escape. It’s Lincoln with its distinctive grille, more refined sheet metal. 2016 changes included are new exterior paint options with windshield wiper de-icer. Not only that but instead of MyLincoln Touch there is Sync 3 infotainment system which is more responsive simpler menu structures, wireless updates and more accurate voice recognition. For 2017 more equipment came standard. Those are power liftgate, automatic brake holding at traffic lights, Stop/Start feature and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For 2018 model year there will be ten exterior colors available with three interior ones.

2018 Lincoln MKC – Same Engines

This Audi Q3, Range Rover Evoque, Lexus NX, and Mercedes-Benz GLA-class contender remains with the same options under the hood. The base engine is 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline 4-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque. The optional one is 2.3-liter EcoBoost also inline-4, but with 270 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. This is more than enough to propel this SUV from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds. While FWD is standard for the base engine, AWD is optional while the standard for the 2.3-liter engine. Both Engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Although we can’t be unsatisfied with crash test results for MKC, we can’t wait for IIHS to conduct the famous small overlap crash test. And Lincoln, since it’s a luxury brand, could do really something more for crash avoidance rather than just optional collision warning with brake support.
