2018 Volvo S60 All-New

The 2018 Volvo S60 might come a little bit sooner since the engineers at Sweden are finishing making another one of their famous sedans. The last S60 model was introduced in 2011 and was a huge success especially the T6 AWD and T5 AWD. But since nothing can last forever, and they already made a huge leap with the new XC90 and S90 models, we might expect some vast changes.

2018 Volvo S60 – New Design

With beautiful styling we saw on S90, we can assume that 2018 Volvo S60 will have a somewhat similar design. a grill might be narrowed to visually fit into a smaller sedan. Swedish carmaker will continue to implement big Volvo emblem at the middle, and now already famous Thor’s hammer LED headlights. Side-window shape so-called “Final Cut” might come as an option. There was some negative feedback from critics and people who really love Volvo’s lineup. And that’ about rear end on the S90 (the majority of the audience didn’t find crucial flaws in design). Will they consider some radical changes about rear lighting unit? We’ll just have to wait until more info from Scandinavian car manufacturer about the redesign of the 2018 Volvo S60.

There is 3.4 inches more rear-seat legroom on the current S60 Inscription model we saw on 2015 Detroit auto show. Innovative Sensus-infotainment system will be on the 9.3-inch touchscreen instead 7-inch screen. With multifunctional steering wheel and vast driving aids, the bad driving experience will be out of the question. 2018 Volvo S60 – Safety Features

Amongst all other, for what is Volvo well-known and has reputation for all the way back in the early ninety fifties? Safety! The company that holds a patent for three-point seat belt, that is now mandatory in all vehicles across the globe has set for some unreachable goal. By the 2020 Volvo wants no accidents that will result in zero deaths and serious injuries in their vehicles. The 2018 Volvo S60 will come with Volvo’s IntelliSafe. It’s a vast amount of technologies that improve the everyday driving experience. Will name just a few. City Safety, Pilot assist, 360° Surround view, Driver alert control, Lane-keeping aid, world-first Intersection braking and so on, the list is pretty long. With cameras and radars in the front grill, behind rearview mirror and in the back it all works perfectly.

2018 Volvo S60 – Engine

There are several powertrains that will fit in 2018 Volvo S60. The first option will surely be 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with about 250 horsepower. There is also turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder producing 325 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The AWD model will send power to all wheels with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The plug-in hybrid will come with slightly above 300 horsepower mark.

2018 Volvo S60 – Price

Power and safety features don’t make a car. Some say that S60 lacks that handling precision and adrenaline rush that some of its rivals offer. Since Volvo wants to target younger audience as well they might consider making it sportier and  a little cheaper since the base price for 2018 Volvo S60 probably won’t go under $40,000. That is unlikely since the motto of this Swedish car manufacturer is “Volvo For Life”, safety comes first.
