We all had our eyes wide open when S90 arrived. It came with beautiful and elegant design and a masterpiece interior. And, of course, plenty of safety features, but we’re already accustomed to those when Volvo is in question. It’s too early to see how popular this luxury sedan will be, but the sale numbers are on the rise. Not only that new 2018 XC60 took the spotlight just awhile ago, the new 2018 Volvo S90 does have something new to offer as well.
2018 Volvo S90 – Longer Wheelbase
With the first look, we can’t really see what’s going about. Everything’s there, LED Thor’s Hammer headlights, large C-shaped rear lights and beautiful lines across the whole body. But with a closer look, the new sedan is longer. That’s right, and it’s not just some small adjustment, the wheelbase is 4.7 inches longer. It’s funny how even with S90 already long, the extended wheelbase continue to beautify this model. It looks less front heavy and more proportional.
2018 Volvo S90 – Interior Features
Added length is behind the B-pillar, so rear seat passenger can accommodate with 4.5 inches more legroom. Also, there is the rear seats have new luxury options. They now come with massage feature, while there are also power window shades. Volvo also revised the center armrest and panoramic roof is now also longer. Aside from that, new S90 comes with updated Sensus infotainment system.
2018 Volvo S90 – Engine Options
That’s not all because there are updates also under the hood. The T8 engine has found a place under the hood. This plug-in hybrid combines the T6’s super and turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with not one, but two electric motors. Combined output is 400 horsepower. The entire range has the same 2.0-liter engine which output depends on trim selection. The base T5 comes with 250 horsepower and T6 with 316 horsepower. FWD is available only on base T5 trim, while T5 can also come with AWD. All other trims have AWD as standard. We don’t really want to waste any words regarding safety features because it would take quite some time. It’s enough to say Volvo.
2018 Volvo S90 – Price
When it comes to price, Volvo S90 is still cheaper than most of its rivals such as Mercedes-Benz E-class, Audi A6 and A7, BMW 5-Series, Jaguar XF, Acura RLX, and Kia K900.
